Following service in the Provincial General Pool and subsequent renamings, the locomotive was sold to a private owner in 2007. It remains active on hire to freight operator Loram Rail, with its historic name reinstated in 2024, reflecting its enduring legacy in British rail history and appeal to model railway enthusiasts.
